Biography
As a former partner of an international firm, Ally brings to bear expertise in disputes involving a diverse array of real estate subjects, with a special focus in the area of commercial and residential litigation, leasing, and ownership and valuation disputes. He has litigated disputes in the New York State Courts at almost every level, from the interpretation of escalation clauses, to assignments/sublets/net-leases, to alteration/demolition provisions, to use clauses, to renewal or purchase options, to termination rights, to buy-out disputes, and other significant issues touching and concerning real estate.
Ally has frequently contributed to the New York Law Journal, and his articles have been cited to and relied on by, among others, Justices of the New York State courts.
Ally has lectured widely on real estate issues, including landlord/tenant and co-op litigation, and the law of co-ops/condominiums. Ally has also assisted in compiling teaching materials for "Real Estate Transactions - Spotting Litigation Issues" at the PLI Annual Real Estate Institute in 2016 and 2017.
